COVID Notice – July 10, 2022

To all regarding Berkshire County per CDC on 7/10/22

Green Flag

COVID-19 Community Level – Low

Recommended actions based on current level

Wear a mask indoors in public and on public transportation. Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines. Get tested if you have symptoms. If you are at high risk for severe illness, consider taking additional precautions.

Please note: Our Public Health officials have notified us that, even though we remain in the GREEN (great news), they are expecting another wave towards the middle of August. We continue to see a highly active proliferation of variants. Most of these seem to be more easily transmitted but thankfully, not as compromising as the first couple of rounds. This does not mean that some individuals are not getting extremely ill. This virus is not “just a cold” for many people.

The Board of Health has a limited supply of testing kits available. If you ARE SYMPTOMATIC and do not have access to a test kit, please let us know and we will get one to you. We do have an ample supply of masks. If you have been exposed to COVID by a close contact or are symptomatic, please wear a mask until you are sure you are not contagious.

As the number of hospital cases decrease, the CDC statistics become less indicative of how this virus is progressing. We encourage everyone to self-report to their healthcare provider and/or to their local Board of Health.

All information transmitted to the Board of Health is kept confidential. Only the number of cases within a certain timeframe are reported. This information is especially important for making sure that our various communities needs are met.
